Battowia Seabird Colony
12° 57.8′ N · 61° 7.8′ W
Battowia, locally 'Bird Island', is a steep wildlife reserve just north-east of Baliceaux where frigatebirds, boobies, brown pelicans, noddies and sooty terns roost and nest.
Practical
Coordinates from Wikipedia. Declared a wildlife reserve and a BirdLife Important Bird Area; also home to the rare Barbour's tropical racer snake. Watch from the water: there is no recognised anchorage at Battowia, the coast is steep and the channel to Baliceaux is exposed. Don't land or disturb nesting birds.
Best for
Seabird watching by dinghy or under sail
Season
Nesting activity varies by species; best viewed in calm weather
