Yawzi Point & Tektite Trail
18° 19.2′ N · 64° 43.5′ W
Two short south-shore trails: Yawzi Point between the Lameshur bays, with Danish-era ruins and quiet snorkel coves, and the Tektite Trail over Cabritte Horn to cliffs above the 1969 undersea-habitat site.
Practical
Position is the Wikivoyage trailhead point for Yawzi Point Trail (0.3 mile, easy). Tektite Trail (Wikivoyage trailhead 18.3174 N, 64.7166 W) is about 0.7 mile, moderate, starting at the first switchback of Lameshur Road, with the Cabritte Horn Point extension (about 0.35 mile); steep drop-offs, little shade, few people, so hike with a partner (island guide). The Tektite habitat sat below Beehive Cove at the southeast tip of Great Lameshur Bay in 1969 to 1970 (Wikipedia, island guide). Can be overgrown: long trousers help.
