VINP Overnight Mooring Pay Stations (Recreation.gov)

18° 20.0′ N · 64° 47.7′ W · approximate

How you pay for a night on a national-park ball: honor-system pay stations in the main bays, now mostly paid by scanning a QR code in the Recreation.gov app.

Practical

Position is approximate: the Cruz Bay finger-pier / visitor-center pay station. Fees (NPS fees page, updated Sept 2026; table labelled 2024): US$26 per night, US$13 with an Interagency Senior or Access pass, required for anchoring or mooring between 5 pm and 7 am and paid before you spend the night. Limits: 7 consecutive nights per bay, 30 nights per calendar year. Pay stations: floating stations in Caneel, Francis and Leinster bays; land stations at the Cruz Bay visitor center (near the flagpole), Salt Pond Beach and the VIERS dock in Great Lameshur Bay (NPS marine page; the fees page also lists Saltpond Bay and Great Lameshur). Download the Recreation.gov app before arriving because cell coverage is patchy; scan the station QR code, campsite number 10214380. No refunds or changes once paid; first come, first served, and you must be on the ball to pay. A September 2024 NPS proposal would raise fees to US$40 (boats up to 60 ft) / US$60 (over 60 ft), charge them 24 hours a day, and add finger-pier (US$1/ft/day), bulkhead/dinghy (US$5/day) and boat-ramp fees; the fees page still showed US$26 in 2026, so verify locally.
