The flagship base of The Moorings, the charter company that has operated in the BVI since 1969 and the start and finish of thousands of bareboat charters each year, tucked behind Wickhams Cay II in the north-east corner of Road Harbour.
Practical
Charter base rather than a transient marina: contact The Moorings for any dockage (marinas.com lists (284) 494-2332). The BVI Tourist Board says the Moorings Yacht Club at the base offers a pool, supermarket, restaurants, boutiques, laundry and showers for charter guests. RiteWay's Pasea/Wickhams Cay II supermarket and One Mart are a short walk or taxi away. Approach through the harbour keeping clear of Scotch Bank (red buoy) on the east side; slow to 5 knots inside.
