Practical

Position is the Tortola reference point from Wikipedia. The NOAA National Hurricane Center gives the official Atlantic season as June 1 to November 30, with the peak on September 10 and most activity from mid-August to mid-October. Yacht Warriors notes that late summer is hot with lighter trades (5 to 15 knots), that some establishments close, and that autumn brings the rain. Many owners haul out at Nanny Cay for the season; book haul-out space early, and check charter-company and insurance hurricane clauses. Monitor NHC advisories daily.
