Diamond Cay National Park

18° 26.9′ N · 64° 43.5′ W

A 1.25-acre islet tied to Jost Van Dyke by a sandbar at low tide, protected since 1991 as a bird sanctuary: bare windward cliffs, sandy leeward beaches, and nesting brown boobies, terns and brown pelicans.

Practical

National Parks Trust: established 1991, 1.25 acres; part of a proposed protected area of the northern cays (Diamond Cay, Green Cay, Sandy Spit, Sandy Cay) linked by an extensive reef system. Do not disturb nesting birds; stay off the cliffs during nesting. Snorkel the reef around the cay from a dinghy in calm conditions. No fishing or collecting within park areas.

Best for

Birdwatching and a short reef snorkel
