Salak Phet Fuel, Water and Provisions
11° 59.8′ N · 102° 22.2′ E · approximate
The working fishing village at the head of Salak Phet Bay, where crews dry fish on the jetty and the minimarts cater to locals rather than tourists. Fuel, water and laundry are all available.
Practical
Southeast Asia Pilot: onshore accommodation, fuel, internet, water and laundry, and adequate shops in the village at the head of the bay. Major repairs are not available, so go to Trat. Iamkohchang describes a main jetty used by fishermen, a newer pier, a local minimart and Urai's Place guesthouse and restaurant. OpenStreetMap maps a 24-hour 7-Eleven (Southern Koh Chang) at 12.0097N 102.3696E on the road into the village, and Aoy's Little Farm & Bakery near the Island View pier. For cooking gas, a 2014 Noonsite report says Thai bottles can be swapped or bought but foreign bottles can't be filled; it suggests asking Gulf Charters or Island View about borrowing a Thai bottle. The coordinate is OpenStreetMap's 'Fishermen village' point and is approximate.
