Phuket Boat Lagoon Marina

7° 57.8′ N · 98° 23.2′ E

Phuket's first marina, fully operating since 1994, dug out of a tidal flat at the head of Klong Tha Rua. It is the centre of the island's marine services, with yards, chandleries and trades clustered behind its hardstand.

Practical

Basin dug to 5 m; 180 wet berths in the inner basin and approach river, all with power and water; hardstand for up to 160 boats; 22 dry-stack bays; travel lifts up to 120 t (SEAP; the SEAP marina table lists 40, 50, 80 and 120 t). Hot showers. Harbour Master VHF 71 during office hours (the table also lists 67), +66 76 239055. Fuel and water on the dock (Noonsite). Often full with refit boats, so book well ahead. Entry is tide-controlled (max about 3.2 m at high tide per Noonsite) and not lit, so no night entry. Noonsite's business listing (undated, verify) gives a basin dredged to about 3.5 m, max LOA 35 m, fuel dock, 24-hour security, pool, international supermarket and pharmacy, address 221/1 Moo 2 Thepkasattri Rd; it calls haul-out expensive and says living aboard on the hard is discouraged. LPG refills nearby (see LPG entry).
