Hat Kan Tiang Anchorage

A deep, steep-sided bay near Lanta's southern tip with soft sand, jungle hills and the luxurious Pimalai Resort and Spa. It is the most beautiful west-coast stop on the island and much quieter than the northern beaches.
Practical
Anchor close inshore in about 5 m on sand, opposite Pimalai (Southeast Asia Pilot waypoint, 46 nm from Ao Chalong). Recommended in the NE monsoon only. Pimalai's floating jetty at the north end of the resort may be used by yachts only if you eat at the resort restaurant; it is removed at the end of each high season, and its black sections get very hot at midday, so tie close to the beach and wear shoes. The Why Not bar and restaurant, a little further north, is well regarded. A tidal creek and small waterfall lie at the north end of the beach.
Best for
Scenic NE-monsoon overnight with resort dining
