Ban Pak Chok Anchorage (Koh Ra / Koh Phra Thong)
9° 11.4′ N · 98° 18.0′ E
An all-weather anchorage in the inland waterway between Koh Ra and Koh Phra Thong, sheltered from the sea by Koh Ra. It is the northernmost coastal refuge before Ranong and a base for Phra Thong's savanna and the Kuraburi pier.
Practical
Southeast Asia Pilot position 09°11.379N, 98°18.037E, 82 nm from Patong. Anchor in 6–10 m on mud, just east of the non-navigable channel between Koh Phra Thong and Koh Ra. From the north the entrance is easy, with deep water close to Koh Ra (Ko Ra light, Fl 8s 10 M, on the island's north side per OSM). From the south the channel needs care: pass south of the small rock in mid-channel. The village jetty about half a mile away dries at low tide, so land the dinghy near high water. About 30 nm east of Koh Tachai and the same distance southeast of the Surins.
