Ao Lanah Anchorage (Phi Phi Don)
7° 46.1′ N · 98° 45.6′ E
A west-coast bay on northern Phi Phi Don with moorings and, according to the Pilot, the best snorkelling on Phi Phi right off the stern.
Practical
Southeast Asia Pilot waypoint 07°46.133N 98°45.624E, 17 nm from Ao Nang. Several moorings: pick one up, or anchor out in about 10 m on sand. Useful in the NE monsoon for late arrivals from Krabi. A footpath leads to the main track along the island's spine: south to Ton Sai village, north a short walk to Laem Tong's resorts. Nearby Ao Nui is beautiful but shallow, with room for one yacht just south of the islet in 3 m off the fringing reef.
