Marianne West Beach (calm-weather stop)
4° 20.5′ S · 55° 55.0′ E · approximate
The uninhabited former copra island 3.8 km east-southeast of Félicité, with one long beach on its west side and rugged granite elsewhere.
Practical
Coordinate approximate: about 140 m off the west beach on the OpenStreetMap outline. NGA Pub 171: Marianne is 130 m high and steep-to except on its west side, so the west side is where the shallower shelf and the beach are - but no source consulted gives an anchoring spot, depth or holding, so it is kept as a settled-weather dinghy or day stop, not a listed anchorage. Wikipedia: 0.96 km², uninhabited since the plantation closed, visited regularly by tourists and boaters; SeyVillas notes the beach on the west side and that the La Digue Island Lodge dive centre runs boats here. Hazards: the most exposed of the satellites - open ocean to the east and south, and currents off the south tip can be strong (SeyVillas). Approach in good light from the west (see the Félicité to Marianne approach passage).
