Anchorage· Ile Cocos· Seychelles
Ile Cocos day-use anchorage (no overnight)
4° 18.8′ S · 55° 51.9′ E · approximate
A daytime-only stop off the Cocos islets for the snorkelling; sand holding but open water, and boats must leave before the park closes.
Practical
Coordinate approximate: about 120 m south of Ile Cocos (OpenStreetMap islet outline), following The Moorings' website advice that 'the best anchorage is south of Coco Island. Holding is good in sand.' Sources conflict on buoys: the Moorings website says day moorings are available, while the Moorings eGuide (printed January 2026) says no mooring buoys and that the best anchorage is east of Coco - use a buoy if one is laid, otherwise anchor in clear sand only, never on coral (SPGA rule). No overnight mooring. No dinghy dock or facilities. Park fee Rs200 per person.
