Aride SE monsoon closure
4° 12.7′ S · 55° 40.1′ E
Aride's single landing beach faces south into the SE trades, so the reserve often closes to visitors from May to September and can shut at short notice in surf.
Practical
ICS: open to tourists during the NW monsoon, October to May; the island 'often closes during the South-east Trade winds, mainly May to September'. Book early, keep a backup date, and phone the island before leaving Praslin. Coordinate: island centre (Commons NASA image).
