Aride anchorage off south beach (marine-park buoys)
4° 13.0′ S · 55° 40.0′ E · approximate
Visitor buoys laid at the edge of Aride's marine park off the south beach — an open-ocean daytime stop five miles north of Praslin with frigatebirds wheeling overhead.
Practical
ICS yacht protocol: vessels should moor to the buoys provided at the edge of the marine park, then wait for the reserve boat. Fully exposed to the SE trades and to any swell; the island closes to visitors in the SE monsoon (mainly May–Sep). Daytime only — return to Anse Volbert or Anse Lazio area of Praslin for the night. Coordinate approx: about 350 m south of the beach, at the wannadive Aride Bank position ('south side of Aride Island'); buoy positions themselves are not published — look for them on arrival.
