Anse Boileau Beach and Bay

4° 42.6′ S · 55° 28.6′ E · approximate

A long curved fishermen's bay with a working village behind it; local boats lie in the shallows and the sunset views are excellent.

Practical

Seyvillas: water often too shallow to swim properly and the beach can disappear at high tide; some muddy patches; seaweed June-September. For yachts see 'Anse Boileau Anchorage': NGA Pub. 171 names Anse Boileau as one of the preferred anchorages in Boileau Bay, outside the reef, with a buoyed prohibited area close NW. Coordinate is the OSM bay label (in the water). Start of the cross-island Chemin Montagne path.
