Clark Island Marine State Park (Clark Island)

48° 42.1′ N · 122° 46.2′ W · approximate

A slim island in Rosario Strait north of Orcas with sandy and gravel beaches, 15 camp sites and buoys on both sides. It is a lovely day stop in settled weather.

Practical

Position is approximate (near the OSM Segastill Passage label between Clark and Barnes Islands). Nine buoys: six on the east side, three on the west; boats over 45 ft may not use them. The west side has strong currents; the east side takes big waves from passing ships. Give Clark, Barnes and the nearby rocks a 0.5 mile berth when passing. No water, no garbage service, sporadic cell signal. Nearest fuel and a small store at Blakely Island. State Parks moorage (2025 rates, still posted in 2026): buoys $23 a night, docks $1 per foot ($23 minimum), charged from 1 pm to 8 am all year. Self-register and pay on arrival, rafted boats included; phone registration is posted at the buoys. An annual State Parks moorage permit ($7 per foot, $80 minimum) covers docks and buoys.
