Burrows Bay (Fidalgo Island)

48° 28.0′ N · 122° 40.6′ W

A broad bay on the west side of Fidalgo between Fidalgo Head and Biz Point, sheltered from the west and north by Burrows and Allan Islands. Boats bound to or from Deception Pass pass through here, and it leads into Flounder Bay.

Practical

Coordinate is the OSM bay. Anchor in the north part in 15-16 fathoms (90-96 ft, 27-29 m), soft bottom (Coast Pilot) - deep, so carry plenty of scope. Exposed to south weather. In the south-east part depths drop below 6 fathoms (36 ft) and shoals reach almost 0.4 mile off the east and south shores. A 5-fathom middle ground lies east of the pass between Allan and Burrows Islands. Burrows Island Light has a mariner-activated fog signal (key VHF 83A five times). Magnetic disturbance of 4 degrees has been observed on the east shore. Allan Pass and Burrows Pass have NOAA stations PUG1737 and PUG1738.
