13° 50.3′ N · 120° 3.7′ E · approximate

A cove at the western end of Lubang used by cruisers as a few-hours rest stop before the night run past Cape Calavite to the Mindoro coast.

Practical

Position approx: derived about 2.7 km west of OSM 'Tagbac' village (13.84031N 120.08777E) toward the Cabra Strait - no published coordinates; Moken describes it only as Tagbac Cove at the south-west tip of Lubang. Verify on a chart and anchor by sounding. Moken (Feb 2015): crossed about 50 nm south from Port Binanga (Subic) to Lubang with gusts to about 25 knots on the beam, anchored in Tagbac Cove in about 60 ft for a few evening hours, then weighed at midnight for Cape Calavite and reached the lee of Mindoro around dawn. No facilities documented. The Cabra Strait (OSM), about 3 km wide and deep per Wikipedia, separates Lubang from Cabra Island and its lighthouse to the north-west.
