A 5.3 km forest trail from Sabang to the Underground River entrance through lowland forest where long-tailed macaques are common, the classic alternative to the banca ride.

Official park site: trail hours 8:00 am-3:00 pm; wear hiking shoes and bring water and insect repellent; listed as temporarily closed for renovation at last check, so confirm at Sabang. Wikivoyage: allow 1-2 hours; you may walk to the central station without a permit but not beyond. Trailhead mapped east of the village (OpenStreetMap).
