Punta Bunga Anchorage (north White Beach)
11° 59.1′ N · 121° 54.2′ E · approximate
The quieter north end of White Beach off Punta Bunga, below the wooded headland where fruit bats roost, and the spot the YIT guide calls the usual practice for visiting yachts.
Practical
Approx: placed about 350 m west of the OpenStreetMap Punta Bunga Beach outline; the guide gives no exact position. Depth per YIT: 4–7 m over sand. Same restrictions as White Beach: call the Boracay Tourism Office or PCG on VHF 16 first. Sheltered in the amihan (NE); exposed to the habagat (W/SW). Watch for uncharted bommies. Punta Bunga and Banyugan beaches are fronted by resorts (Shangri-La); land the dinghy only where public access is clear. Flying foxes roost in the trees above Punta Bunga and the hunting of bats is banned by local ordinance in Barangay Yapak. Holding: YIT says sand but gives no holding quality; set the anchor well and watch for coral heads.
