Pandan Island Anchorage (Sablayan)
12° 51.3′ N · 120° 45.1′ E · approximate
The jumping-off anchorage for Apo Reef: a fair-weather spot south-west of Pandan Island's beach, off a small eco dive resort, and a recommended waypoint for yachts heading on to Coron.
Practical
Position approx: derived south-west of the OSM beach (12.85757N 120.75448E) per Noonsite's description; verify depths on approach. Noonsite (resort listing, 2010): good anchorage south-west of the beach in fair and medium weather; boats drawing under 2 m can use a sandy area about 4 m deep; deeper keels anchor further off in about 25 m (good holding in mud). Do not drop between the two areas - the steep slope may make you drag in northerly winds. Day visitors pay PHP 300 entrance (8am to 5pm) plus environmental fee (PHP 100 non-divers, PHP 342 divers) and must register at the front desk (Pandan, 2025-26 rates). No outside alcohol or pets on the island.
