Nasugbu Roadstead (off Nasugbu town)

14° 4.4′ N · 120° 36.8′ E · approximate

An open roadstead off Nasugbu town's beachfront, convenient for a fuel or supply run ashore before heading out to Fortune Island or south to Calatagan and the Verde Island Passage.

Practical

Position approximate: about 1 km west of the Nasugbu pier area (OSM ferry terminal 14.0766N 120.6238E), chosen in open water south-west of Pillar Rock, a rock mapped about 14.0833N 120.6167E (OSM, from the GNS gazetteer, so its position is coarse; give it a wide berth). Nasugbu Lighthouse, Fl G 5s (OSM, PCG 2019 list), stands on the point at 14.0821N 120.6204E. Depth and holding are not documented in the sources found. The roadstead faces west onto Nasugbu Bay and the South China Sea with no shelter from westerly or south-westerly wind and swell; use it as a daytime stop in the NE monsoon. For overnight shelter, the PGYC notes recommend Maya-Maya (marina and moorings) or Hamilo Cove a few miles north. Ashore: Coast Guard detachment, a TotalEnergies station for jerrycan diesel, and stores along the beachfront (see Nasugbu Waterfront).
