Maya-Maya Anchorage and Moorings (Natipuan)
14° 6.9′ N · 120° 37.0′ E
The anchorage off the Maya-Maya resort and its typhoon-safe marina in Natipuan Cove, south of Punta Fuego. It is a hospitable place to wait for weather before the 40 NM run south to Puerto Galera.
Practical
Position from the PGYC West Luzon inbound notes: anchor near 14°06.87'N 120°37'E; mooring buoys are sometimes available. The notes call the resort very hospitable to visiting yachts, especially if you use the bar and restaurant, and say the adjacent marina is considered typhoon safe, with fuel and a 50-ton travel hoist; prices are a little higher than in most resort areas. These are undated cruiser notes, so confirm the hoist and fuel are still working. From here to Puerto Galera is about 42 NM (PGYC), a good day sail. Do not night-sail this coast: fishermen string long nets perpendicular to the shore, and the notes advise staying at least 8 NM offshore if you must. OSM maps Natipuan Cove and the Maya-Maya Yacht Club beside the anchorage.
