Morong Beach
14° 40.4′ N · 120° 15.9′ E
A long west-facing beach in Morong on Bataan's rugged South China Sea coast, lined with small resorts. Turtles nest on this shore, and the Pawikan Conservation Center is a short way south.
Practical
Position: OSM beach way 65600753 (Poblacion/Sabang, Morong). Wikivoyage describes Morong as a rural town combining the mothballed Bataan Nuclear Power Plant, beaches and forests, with beach resorts prevalent along the coast. The beach faces west straight onto the South China Sea, so it is a calm-weather landing only: surf builds in the SW monsoon (habagat). No yacht anchorage is documented here; Port Binanga, inside Subic Bay about 4 NM north by sea, is the sheltered option. Gov. J.J. Linao National Road runs along the coast.
Best for
A beach day and turtle visit on the Bataan coast
Season
Nov-Apr; surf and onshore swell in the SW monsoon
