14° 45.9′ N · 120° 14.9′ E · approximate

A shallow house reef right off Camayan Beach on the Subic Bay Freeport's south-west shore, with a small pocket reef about 100 yards out. It is the easy, sheltered snorkel inside the bay and doubles as a night-dive site.

Practical

Coordinates approximate: about 50 m off Camayan Beach (beach mapped at 14.7650°N 120.2497°E). Camayan Divers: the House Reef in front of the resort has jacks, sweetlips and mixed corals and is good for snorkelling, night dives and training. The Formula 40 and Oasis pocket reefs lie about 100 yards offshore and have plenty of small and medium fish. They also dive Nabasan Reef, a drop-off with turtles, barracuda and seagrass on top, and El Capitan Reef with giant clams and schools of jacks, beside the El Capitan wreck. Depths are not published. Shore access is through Camayan Beach Resort, next to Ocean Adventure, which describes 'aqua blue protected reefs' with kayaking and diving from the resort. Access and fee terms are not published; verify locally. The bay side gives a lee in the NE monsoon, but the reef is turbid after heavy SW-monsoon rain.
