Lanas Beach Anchorage (Carabao west)

12° 2.7′ N · 121° 55.1′ E · approximate

The sunset side of Carabao, off Lanas Beach facing Puka Beach across the Hambil Channel, with a couple of resort restaurants ashore.

Practical

Approx: placed about 340 m south-west of the OpenStreetMap Carabao coastline off Lanas, not a published anchoring position. No depth or holding data found: sound in and anchor on sand clear of coral; uncharted bommies are likely, as around Boracay. Lee in the amihan (NE); exposed to the habagat (SW/W), when the east side off Hambil Pier is the better choice (see Carabao Island Anchorage). Public boats from Tabon (Caticlan) land at either Hambil Pier or Lanas Beach (about 45–60 minutes, departing about 9 am, PHP 250 including environmental fee, 2026 blog). Ashore: The Beach House and Lanas Beach Resort restaurants and bars; town, market and pier are 15 minutes away by tricycle (about PHP 50–100). Carabao is in Romblon province, so Boracay's rules and fees do not apply.

Best for

Quiet amihan anchorage with a Boracay sunset view
