Guyam Island Lee Anchorage (General Luna Lagoon)

9° 45.9′ N · 126° 9.9′ E · approximate

A lunch-stop drop inside General Luna's barrier reef just west of tiny Guyam Island, the first stop of the tri-island hop, with flat water and a short swim to the palm-shaded sand.

Practical

Approx position: about 250 m west of the Guyam Island pin, plotted from the OSM island and the OSM-mapped reef (relation 9821616) and checked to be in water about 220 m off the nearest OSM coast and about 450 m from mapped reef. No published depth, holding or cruiser waypoint was found - this is banca water, so sound your way in and anchor only in sand. Guyam is about 2 km off General Luna, inside the reef where the sea is flat (Greta's Travels); one side of the island is rocky with strong currents and the other sandy and calm (Philippine Beach Guide). Island fees reported PHP 30 per person plus PHP 10 docking (2018; verify locally). Daytime stop only - island-hopping bancas crowd the beach from mid-morning; the lagoon is exposed to swell over the reef in NE monsoon surges.
