Corong-Corong Bay Anchorage

11° 9.9′ N · 119° 23.6′ E

The broad bay just south of town where most visiting yachts anchor in the northeast monsoon, with Cadlao, Miniloc and the Bacuit islands strung across the sunset. A 10-minute walk into El Nido and the base for exploring Lagen, Guntao and the Tapiutan Strait.

Practical

Hacking Family: 11°09.93'N 119°23.56'E, 55 ft (about 17 m) mud, no hazards on entry but LOTS of tour boats. Southeast Asia Pilot: 11°10.060'N 119°23.640'E, 10 m sand, a good NE-season anchorage; ~5 peso tricycle to town (verify locally). Other yachts report anchoring in 45 ft (Moken, 2015) and 20 m on the outer edge of a crowded bay (Speedwell, Dec 2023); gusty. Dinghy landing is poor: the gently sloping beach just north of the anchorage or the concrete jetty; very low tides mean a long drag up the beach. The shore east near Bella Vita is rocky. Public market, MAK store and Drugman pharmacy/grocery are close by. Red 'tomato' jellyfish bloomed in Mar-Apr. Mobile: Globe 4G, Smart 3G.
