Bantayan Santa Fe Anchorage

11° 9.8′ N · 123° 48.9′ E · approximate

The roadstead off Santa Fe, Bantayan's resort town and ferry port, with Hilantagaan Island across the channel to the north-east - the gateway anchorage for Bantayan's beaches.

Practical

Approximate position about 0.8 km east of the Santa Fe pier (OpenStreetMap 11.1656°N 123.8078°E); not a logged spot - sound your way in. Webb (2009): close to the Santa Fe pier the bottom is rocky and holding poor; in northerly weather anchor off the south coast west of Santa Fe; in SW and light NE weather good anchorage can be had off the Bigud pier about 4 nm north of the Santa Fe pier, and if it blows hard you can cross the channel into the lee of the islands to the north. Solita (2012): the SW-season anchorage is between the Santa Fe jetty and Hilantagaan Island (see the Jilantangan anchorage for a logged spot). Katie Lee (2011) anchored off the ferry dock and found it a little rolly. Ferries run hourly between Santa Fe and Hagnaya - stay clear of their track. Santa Fe has small resorts, bars, grocery shops, bakeries, a hardware store and a public market; PNB ATM in town. A new Santa Fe port with a cruise-ship marina was announced in August 2024 - expect construction near the pier.
