Playa El Médano (Cabo San Lucas)

22° 53.3′ N · 109° 54.2′ W · approximate

Cabo San Lucas's main town beach: a long, protected arc of sand inside the bay with El Arco in full view, lined with beach clubs and cantinas - and the beach the Médano anchorage swings off.

Practical

Coordinate is approximate: placed on the sand between The Office and Medano Beach Club, whose positions are mapped in OpenStreetMap; the beach itself is not mapped as a named feature. Visit Los Cabos calls it the top swimmable beach in Cabo San Lucas - shielded from the Pacific's roughest swells, with gentle waves - and lists it among the protected swimmable beaches; obey the flags (green = safe, red or black = unsafe). Busy with jet skis, parasail boats, kayaks, SUPs and glass-bottom boats, so swim inside any marked areas and run a dinghy slowly. Walking distance from the marina and downtown; water taxis also run here. Food and drink: The Office, Mango Deck and many other beachfront restaurants; vendors sell crafts on the sand.
