Luna de Miel, a tiny cove of clear water and red rock at the north-west corner of 'Dancing Island', three short miles from Puerto Escondido—a favourite first or last night of every Loreto cruise.

Coordinate is the anchored position (25°48.523'N, 111°15.458'W) logged by the yacht BlueJacket in May 2012, checked in-water against the OpenStreetMap coastline. The cove has three lobes (BlueJacket): the small west lobe needs a stern anchor to keep off the rocks; the middle lobe is about 35 ft; the southern lobe, about 17 ft over sand with plenty of swing room, is the pick. Room for one or at most two boats per lobe—drop on the light-green sand patch at the entrance and set a stern anchor if tight. A Cruising Club of America flotilla plan (2024) counts three coves at Danzante's north end, running from Honeymoon Cove to 'Divorce Cove', able to take several boats between them. Water on the east side is noticeably colder; the reef at the south end of the cove has a swift current. Shallow and subject to surge in northerly conditions, but calm mornings make it one of the best free-diving spots in the park (Blue Pacific Yachting). Very small—one solo sailor found a 'one-boat corner' open. Popular with day-trippers from the nearby timeshare; rangers sometimes close the beach to let erosion recover (Loreto.com). Bring screens: readers report black flies 'by the millions'. Luna de Miel trail: 0.6 km out-and-back, 44 m climb, from the beach to a fork—north for 360-degree views, south to a mangrove beach. CONANP protected-area fee applies: a Loreto Bay National Park day pass (bracelet) was MX$215 per person in 2025, and the annual Conservation Passport (MX$3,620 in 2025) covers every federal protected area; buy online at descubreanp.conanp.gob.mx or from the rangers at La Dársena in Loreto, and carry proof aboard.
