Faro Norte Dive Site (Isla Danzante)

25° 48.4′ N · 111° 15.1′ W · approximate

A series of stair-stepped walls on Danzante's north-east side that drop past 100 ft, cut by deep canyons and crevices with soft and hard corals, octopus and moray eels.

Practical

Coordinate is approximate: off the north-east shore of Isla Danzante, about 150 m east of the OpenStreetMap coastline; the dive guide gives no surveyed position—dive with a Loreto operator or confirm the site on your chartplotter. Depths from about 30 ft to beyond 100 ft (California Diving News). Visibility in the park runs 50-100+ ft; water reaches about 84°F in summer and autumn and is considerably cooler in winter. Danzante's north half suits beginners, the south half is deeper with steep pinnacles. Leave someone aboard or anchor in sand only in calm weather; north-east side is exposed to northerlies. CONANP protected-area fee applies: a Loreto Bay National Park day pass (bracelet) was MX$215 per person in 2025, and the annual Conservation Passport (MX$3,620 in 2025) covers every federal protected area; buy online at descubreanp.conanp.gob.mx or from the rangers at La Dársena in Loreto, and carry proof aboard.
