El Bajo de Cabo Pulmo Reef

23° 24.8′ N · 109° 24.8′ W · approximate

A live rocky reef of ridges separated by sand channels, ideal for a slow drift dive and sharing the dense fish schools of neighboring Los Morros.

Practical

Coordinate is approximate: dive-site positions are not published; the pin is placed in Cabo Pulmo bay between Cabo Pulmo (23.445 N 109.424 W) and Cabo Frailes (23.386 N 109.415 W) from OpenStreetMap, and the site is reached only by licensed dive or snorkel boat from the village (5-15 minutes). Depth 35-60 ft (deeper than a snorkel site - for snorkeling use Mermaid Beach or La Lobera instead). Mobula rays and green jacks seasonally, bull sharks possible; usually a second tank after a deeper first dive. Park rules: no fishing, no anchoring (even a dinghy) on the reef, no touching or standing on coral, no feeding, no gloves; park fee 120 MXN per person per day (2026) on top of any Conservation Passport.
