Bucerías Roadstead
20° 44.9′ N · 105° 20.4′ W · approximate
The open water off Bucerías's long beach, 2 nm east of La Cruz. It is not a documented cruiser anchorage. Visit Bucerías by bus or taxi from the La Cruz anchorage, or by dinghy only in a flat calm.
Practical
Coordinate is approximate: an open-water point about 1 km southwest of the Highway 200 frontage (CMQ hospital pin 20.75307, -105.33146) and south-southwest of the Bucerías town point (Wikipedia 20.755, -105.3342), not a surveyed anchor spot. Noonsite (May 2026) lists only La Cruz, Yelapa and Punta de Mita as anchorages in the bay. The shoreline is a straight, open surf beach with no breakwater or dinghy landing, and it lies under the valley-funnelled afternoon thermal that powers the Banderas Bay Regatta course just offshore. Surf landings only. The usual approach is to stay at La Cruz (dinghy dock at Marina Riviera Nayarit, 100 pesos a day in April 2024) and take the bus along Highway 200.
