Bucerías Beach

20° 45.3′ N · 105° 20.1′ W · approximate

A long, uninterrupted white-sand beach fronting the cobblestoned town of Bucerías, between La Cruz and Nuevo Vallarta; the sand runs for more than 29 km around the bay. Restaurants and a big street bazaar line the town, and the valley behind it funnels the afternoon thermal that powers the regatta course.

Practical

Coordinate is the Wikipedia point for the town of Bucerías (approx). Exposed open beach with surf landings only; no recognised anchorage or dinghy dock. Most cruisers visit by bus from La Cruz (ATM buses run between La Cruz, Bucerías and Puerto Vallarta). The town celebrates its patron, Our Lady of Peace, each January with a large street bazaar. The Banderas Bay Regatta racing area lies offshore, and the thermal is strongest 2 to 3 miles off the Nuevo Vallarta entrance.
