18° 2.2′ N · 63° 5.6′ W
The Dutch side charges per-entry bridge fees plus weekly harbour fees for anchoring in the lagoon or bay; the French side and its Sandy Ground bridge are free. Know the numbers before choosing which bridge to use.
Practical
Simpson Bay Bridge fee per entry (USD, 2026): 9-12 m $7; 12-15 m $21; 15-18 m $42; 18-22 m $120; 22-28 m $200; 28-36 m $300; 36 m+ $500. No fee to exit; the Causeway bridge was free as of March 2026; Sandy Ground bridge is free. Dutch harbour fee per week by length: 8-13 m $20; 13-18 m $40; 18-23 m $60; 23-28 m $90; 28-33 m $120 (larger bands to $290). Customs clearance per net ton: 1-99 t $2; 100-499 t $5; 500+ t $9. Harbour clearance per gross ton: 1-99 t $5; 100-499 t $10; 500+ t $20. Worked example (2026): a 45-ft, 13-ton boat anchored one week paid $26 customs + $40 harbour + $21 bridge = $87; after week one only the harbour fee recurs. Fees are paid at the Customs/SLAC office, normally while clearing in after transiting. Fees are set by government ordinance (Harbour Fees and Bridge Fees ordinances), not by SLAC. Special bridge openings cost extra - verify locally.
