Sec Pate Dive

15° 54.1′ N · 61° 39.3′ W

A seamount in the middle of the Canal des Saintes that rises from the deep to rocky pinnacles about 15 m below the surface - the archipelago's signature deep dive, with chimneys, passages and big pelagics.

Practical

Position is the Sec Pâté dive-site node in OpenStreetMap, in open water between Les Saintes and Vieux-Fort (Basse-Terre). La Dive Bouteille rates it 40 m max, for PE40/Advanced divers with 30+ logged dives plus deep specialty; descend to 40 m and work up through passages and chimneys. Expect black jacks, bigeye jacks, barracuda and tuna; marlin or whales are possible in spring. French Wikipedia describes three rocky pinnacles from about -300 m to -15 m. Exposed open-water site with current - dive only with a local operator's boat; not a site for a private yacht to anchor.
