Rendezvous Bay (Anguilla)
18° 10.4′ N · 63° 6.9′ W
A long, sweeping south-coast beach looking straight across the Anguilla Channel to St Martin's mountains. It is home to Bankie Banx's driftwood-built Dune Preserve bar and backed by an Important Bird Area salt pond.
Practical
The US Sailing Directions call Rendezvous Bay a safe refuge for smaller vessels in the Anguilla Channel. The local agent AXA lists it as a day-and-overnight anchorage under the cruising permit. Anchor on sand, clear of shoals at the ends of the bay, and watch for swell wrapping round in strong south-east trades. Rendezvous Bay Pond behind the beach is an Important Bird Area.
Best for
Lunch at the Dune Preserve and a long beach walk
