Port Codrington Customs

17° 38.4′ N · 61° 49.5′ W · approximate

Barbuda's own customs and immigration post, in Codrington village. You can clear into or out of Antigua & Barbuda here, but most yachts clear in at Antigua first and simply check in on Barbuda.

Practical

Coordinate approx: OpenStreetMap's 2015 survey marks the Immigration Office on Buffalo Road here. Barbudaful says customs and immigration work from Customs House 'by the old airport', and Noonsite says the office is a short walk from the waterfront, on the opposite side of the street from where online maps show it; ask a taxi driver. Procedure (Noonsite, Feb 2025): complete SailClear/eSeaClear online first. Then email the Comptroller of Customs at least 48 hours before arrival asking permission (Customs@ab.gov.ag; check Noonsite for the current named officer). On arrival, WhatsApp or call Barbuda Customs on +1 268 464 5012 before going ashore so an officer is there, and mention that you have the Comptroller's permission. If you get no answer, Antigua Customs is +1 268 732 4157 and Barbuda Immigration +1 268 764 2161. Paperwork takes about 30 minutes. No fees are collected on Barbuda: you are told to pay them at the Port Authority on arrival in Antigua. Hours vary: Noonsite gives about 10am-4pm daily and until 2pm at weekends, and the Antigua & Barbuda Marine Guide lists customs Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm and immigration weekends 10am-2pm. Call ahead outside weekday office hours. Booyard Yacht Services (+1 268 717 4979) can arrange express clearance.
