Oyster Pond Anchorage

18° 3.3′ N · 63° 1.0′ W · approximate

A reef-guarded pond on the east coast split by the French-Dutch border, once home to Captain Oliver's Marina and the St Barths ferry - a sheltered spot if you can get through the entrance.

Practical

Coordinate is approximate: the centre of Oyster Pond (OpenStreetMap bay feature), checked against the coastline. The 2023 border settlement runs the boundary through the middle of the pond. Noonsite lists Oyster Pond as a port of entry on both sides. The entrance is open to the Atlantic - see the Oyster Pond Entrance passage. Dinghy Dock Bar and a capitainerie building on the shore. Depths inside not documented in current sources reviewed.
