Old Road Bay Anchorage
16° 44.7′ N · 62° 14.2′ W · approximate
A wide bay below Salem and the old Vue Pointe hotel site, with a long grey beach and views south to the volcano and Plymouth.
Practical
Position derived about 300 m west of the OSM-mapped Old Road Bay beach (16.7443, -62.2338). Noforeignland reviews: reasonable holding in sand at about 5 to 6 m, swell can be uncomfortable, space adequate on calm days. Noonsite warns of considerable shoaling in the Old Road Bay and Plymouth areas from volcanic deposits. Permission to anchor outside Little Bay must be confirmed with Customs. Beach toilets and showers 7:00am to 6:00pm; turtle nesting beach.
