Isles Bay Anchorage

16° 44.4′ N · 62° 14.2′ W · approximate

A secluded west-coast bay between Garibaldi Hill and Old Road, with a grey-sand beach, a popular beach bar and turtles in the shallows - historically the favourite deep-holding anchorage off the villa coast.

Practical

Position derived about 300 m west of the OSM-mapped Isles Bay Beach (16.7393, -62.2331). Noonsite (updated 2026): boats were formerly permitted here and holding is excellent (thick volcanic-ash mud), but recent reports say anchoring is no longer permitted; confirm with Customs before going. Lies just north of the Zone W boundary - do not drift south. Beach toilets and showers open 7:00am to 6:00pm. Turtle nesting May to December - no bright lights on the beach.

Best for

Lunch stop off the beach bar if Customs allow it
