Meads Bay
18° 11.0′ N · 63° 8.4′ W
A heart-stopping arc of white sand on the north-west coast, lined with beach restaurants and resorts. Calm water, and a top-tier lunch stop by boat.
Practical
The local agent AXA lists Meads Bay as a day-and-overnight anchorage under the cruising permit; SailScanner treats it as a lunch stop. Anchor on sand off the beach, clear of swimmers. Exposed to northerly swell in winter. Beach eateries include Blanchard's Beach Shack (OpenStreetMap). Meads Bay Pond behind the beach is an Important Bird Area. The Oosterdiep wreck lies offshore to the north-west.
