August Thursday Boat Race (Meads Bay)

During Summer Festival week the Thursday race starts off Meads Bay, one of the island's grandest beaches. It is the one festival race day that moves away from Sandy Ground.
Practical
Coordinate is Meads Bay beach (same point as the Meads Bay beach entry). Per a local guide, the August Thursday race is held the first Thursday in August (the Thursday after August Monday, a public holiday) and departs from Meads Bay. Meads Bay needs the cruising permit. Early August is the heart of hurricane season, so only plan around it with a firm weather window.
