Little Scrub Island

18° 17.8′ N · 62° 57.3′ W

A 1.2-hectare rock 500 m west of Scrub Island and home to a lizard found nowhere else, the Little Scrub ground lizard, plus nesting noddies, terns and brown boobies.

Practical

No beach and no landing: choppy water surrounds a rocky shore. View from a boat only, and keep clear in swell. Hurricanes Luis (1995) and Lenny (1999) stripped its vegetation, which has since recovered.

Best for

Birdwatching from the water on the way to Scrub
