Les Saintes Iguanas
15° 52.5′ N · 61° 34.9′ W · approximate
Iguanas are everywhere on Terre-de-Haut - basking in the Fort Napoléon succulent garden and along the roads - and the green iguana is the island's heraldic symbol. The archipelago also harbours the critically endangered native Lesser Antillean iguana.
Practical
Position approx: Fort Napoléon garden, the most reliable place to see them. English Wikipedia notes both the green iguana and Iguana delicatissima, the latter threatened by hybridisation with the green iguana; Iguana delicatissima is classed critically endangered (French Wikipedia). Do not feed or handle; do not move animals between islands.
