Ilet du Gosier Anchorage
16° 12.1′ N · 61° 29.5′ W · approximate
A palm-covered coral islet with a lighthouse, a few hundred metres off Le Gosier and less than 3 nm from Bas-du-Fort: white-sand beach, easy snorkelling, and empty once the day boats leave in the evening.
Practical
Coordinate approx: between the islet (OSM way 41145378) and the Gosier shore, checked as open water. Anchor in sand clear of the shuttle route to the islet jetty (OSM node 2912002031); shuttles run about every 30 minutes, EUR5 per person (Rando Guadeloupe). The islet has been protected by the Conservatoire du littoral since 2003 and its lighthouse dates from 1852. A 2015 Noonsite comment warns of a hard-to-see rope line marking a swimming channel in the area - go slowly. Plage de la Datcha and the Gosier village shops and restaurants are a short dinghy ride away.
Best for
First or last night out of Bas-du-Fort
