An 18th-century fort on the hill between Bas-du-Fort and Le Gosier with views over the Petit Cul-de-Sac Marin, and the start of a 3 km coastal trail through dry forest to hidden coves at Grand Baie.

Trail start position (rue du Fort Fleur d'Epee) from the national park Geotrek database (trek 11388): 1 hr 30 min, 3.25 km, easy. Be back before 5:30pm, when the Fort Fleur d'Epee car park closes; the wooden bridges are worn and the steps steep. Fort position 16.2167, -61.5131 (Wikipedia). Walking distance from the marina.
