Guadeloupe National Park

16° 5.0′ N · 61° 41.0′ W

Created in 1989, the national park covers the volcanic rainforest heart of Basse-Terre plus marine core zones at the Pigeon islets, the Grand Cul-de-Sac Marin and the islets of Kahouanne and Tete a l'Anglais - together a UNESCO biosphere reserve.

Practical

Position from Wikipedia. There is no entry permit for private yachts, but strict rules apply in the marine core zones (park regulations): anchoring is prohibited - use only the park buoys (white buoys for recreational boats, pink/fuchsia for professionals); fishing and hunting banned; jet skis banned; no night lighting of islets or sea; drones need authorisation; Ilet Blanc closed to landing 15 April-30 September and Tete a l'Anglais closed to landing; buffer zones around the Carenage, Christophe and Fajou islets. At Pigeon: one boat per buoy, max 8 m, no overnight. Diving in the Grand Cul-de-Sac Marin only at Passe a Colas. The park's Nav&Co app shows buoys and rules. Park HQ: Monteran, Saint-Claude, +590 590 41 55 55.
